Julie Fiore, MD, PhD
CLINICAL FELLOW
Julie Fiore (she/her/hers) grew up in Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh for her undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and German. Her first lab job was working on nonlinear optical studies of semiconductor interfaces under Dr. Eric Borguet. During undergrad she enjoyed studying abroad in Germany and traveling for snowboarding trips.
Dr. Fiore attended the University of Colorado Boulder for graduate school and completed her PhD in Chemical Physics in Dr. David Nesbitt’s lab where she worked on single-molecule kinetic and thermodynamic studies of RNA folding. During grad school, she enjoyed long-distance trail running, including completing her first ultramarathon. She then completed her MD at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Fiore completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Massuchusetts General Hospital. She is currently a UCSF Clinical Fellow in Rheumatology and completing her postdoctoral research in Dr. Joel Ernst's laboratory.
When not in the lab, she can be found hiking with her husband and daughter.
