Gonzalo Acevedo, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar

Gonzalo (he/him/his) grew up in Rivera, a small town in the Buenos Aires province, Argentina and attended Universidad Nacional de La Plata for his undergraduate degree. His first lab job was working on recombinant antigens expression and purification from plants under Dr. Silvana Petruccelli. He conducted his PhD studies and his first postdoc appointment at INGEBI-CONICET (Buenos Aires city), under Dr. Karina Gomez, where he focused on the cellular immune response against Trypanosoma cruzi in chronic Chagas disease. During that time he collaborated with and worked temporarily at the Pinilla Lab at Torrey Pines Institute (San Diego, CA) and the Hansen Lab at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (Melbourne, Australia).
